Amazon Should Stop Listing of Pollinator-Toxic Products – Environmental Groups

Neonicotinoid pesticides are harmful for pollinators, and they are present in several products for the home and garden. More than 30 environmental and public health groups have urged Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to stop listing of products linked to pollinator declines. This demand comes shortly after the federal government listed the rusty patch bumblebee as an endangered species.

According to the group, Amazon should “use its influence as the largest online retailer in the U.S. to lead marketplace change and protect pollinators by prohibiting the sale of pollinator-toxic neonicotinoid pesticide products, educating consumers on the availability of safer, “pollinator friendly” alternatives.”
